Today marks the first day of 2024's first WindUp Watch Fair. From May 3rd to May 5th, 2024, the WindUp Watch Fair will proudly return for its once-a-year stint in San Francisco. The three-day shopping event will make its debut at the newly opened Gateway Pavilion at Fort Mason which spans two floors and has incredible bay views, if you can take your eyes off the watches that is. Most importantly, a giant venue means this year’s rendezvous is expected to be bigger than ever with an impressive 60+ brands presenting.

Now in its 9th year, the Windup Watch Fair began in New York City but has since expanded to include annual shows in both San Francisco and Chicago. The event is completely free and open to the public every day for the entire three-day period. By bringing watch brands and customers together year after year, WindUp has become the most popular consumer watch event in America.
Which brands are presenting at WindUp Watch Fair?
WindUp gives up and coming microbrands a well-deserved platform as well as championing those who are already well-established. This year’s lead sponsors are Alpina, Anordain, Christopher Ward, Fortis and Oris but familiar names such as G-SHOCK, Tissot, Baltic, Citizen, Fears and Vulcain also join the ranks as Premiere & Key sponsors. Bold choices like the ProPilot x Kermit Edition by Oris and G-SHOCK Aurora Oval proved to be exceptionally popular at WindUp Watch Fair’s New York event in the Autumn of 2023, but what might we anticipate from this year’s event?

As the ideal space to showcase innovation and push the boundaries on traditional design, it’s likely the first WindUp show of the year might see some experimentation in the way of colours, cases and dials. It’s hard to say for sure, but if Studio Underd0g and William Wood London have anything to do with it, I expect it could be something extremely playful…
